I encourage everyone to donate to the relief efforts of Hurricane Katrina. The Red Cross, is just one of many websites accepting donations online or by calling 1-800-HELP-NOW. All of the victims really need all of our support.
After I went to Seattle, Washington I made it official that I visited all 48 continental United States and felt complete until a few months later until I realized that I had not visited the city of New Orleans :’-( Of course my lack of seeing a city that no longer exists pales far, far, far in comparison to the disaster the residents of all cities affected by this hurricane.
My accounting teacher reinforced the point of charity today with the hurricane relief efforts. She said her 90ish year old grandmother who is very involved in current events said that this is the worst natural disaster she has seen hit the United States in her entire life. With my demanding work and school schedule I’ve missed just how incredibly disastrous this is. However, she reminded all of us to check it out and do anything we can to help. It is truly an amazingly sad story. I don’t mean to sound cliché, but everyone affected truly needs our help.
Donate if you can!
If you know of any other reputable relief funds please post them in the comments!
